Storm Intercept Summary

Wow, plans can change really fast when the hobby of storm chasing is concerned.  I had planned to target the Northeast Oklahoma area to the west of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma really started playing up the area to the south of Oklahoma City as being an area which will likely produce a few tornadoes later in the afternoon.  I decided to take the plunge and drive to that area along the dryline.  If I had only known at the time, that I had made the wrong decision.
Storms never did fire up along the dryline as they were expected to do, however I caught a severe thunderstorm near Cromwell, Oklahoma.  This storm showed signs of lower level rotation in the updraft region of the storm, but it was not meant to be.  This storm became more outflow dominant, so once again all I could hope for was some shelf cloud photos.
Just to let you know, today's main action took place about five miles south of my home in Pittsburg, Kansas.  This was not the first time that I had made a bad choice in selecting a target, and I'm sure it will not be the last.
