Storm Intercept Summary

I knew today had the potential for at least some severe weather, but I had no idea I would see a tornado out of a forecasted Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms today.  I started off by leaving Pittsburg, Kansas fairly early, and I just sat around the Fort Scott, Kansas area.  Storms finally started developing to the Northeast Of Fort Scott, and they moved into Missouri.  I chased after the storms by using the back roads of Vernon County Missouri.  The storms actually looked like total crap on weather radar, but I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.  Between 5 PM and 5:30 PM, a thunderstorm spawned a small needle tornado approximately 5 miles South of Schell City, Missouri.  When the small tornado developed, I was about two miles straight north of it.  I drove South towards the tornado, and by the time I got closer to it, it dissipated.  Another slightly larger tornado developed from the same wall cloud, and this time the tornado was about 1/2 mile to my East in an open field.  Another successful day, and my first Missouri tornado!!
