Storm Intercept Summary

Dad and I took off on another storm chase adventure to Central Oklahoma.  The worst part of this storm chase was the prime area for severe thunderstorms was going to be in the vicinity of the Oklahoma City metro area.  I refuse to chase storms through a metropolitan area, as it is way too dangerous becasue of all the extra traffic and road networks.  Dad and I ate lunch at Brahm's at SW 18th Street and I-35 in Moore, Oklahoma.  As soon as we got back onto Interstate 35, a tornado warning went out on a thunderstorm to our Southwest.  This storm was moving towards our location in Moore, and we decided to not attempt to chase this tornado warned storm, because of its proximity to the Oklahoma City metro area.  More thunderstorms developed farther to our South and we went after those storms.  The show of the day came from the Moore, Oklahoma storm, as it produced a large tornado that stayed on the ground through Moore.  The tornado crossed Interstate 35 not too far north from where we ate lunch at Brahms.  Even though we got to see severe thunderstorms today, I'm glad we played it safe and stayed away from the Metro area.
